Opal X is designed for summarizing and analyzing the MF reports – BALANCE-yyyy-MAKET.xls files. Multiple reports are possible by division – for reconciliation, by account, reconciliation between ending balances from previous year and opening balances from current year, and more.
The program is used to merge working capital statements, group 65 statements, provisions and ending balances to a previous year. It is also possible to create reports from the timesheets, closing balances or balance sheet by specified accounts or balance sheet codes.
Various profiles can be created in the program. The profile contains its own settings for where to take the summary data from and where to save the summary file and report files. For example, it is possible to aggregate the division reports into groups, then merge the summary reports into a total. This is done by creating a separate profile for each group.
In order to process the data, the report files (in MS Excel format) need to be copied into a single directory (or multiple directories, split by group), then the program needs to specify the location of this data and run processing.
During processing, the program takes the data from the files each time. If the data of any report needs to be corrected, it is changed in the corresponding file, or the file itself is overlapped with a newer copy, and the corrected data is used in the next processing.
